Principal's Bio

I grew up in Phil Campbell, Alabama. Phil Campbell is a small town very similar to Coker. After graduating from Phil Campbell High School in 1981 I attended Northwest Alabama State Junior College, then transferred to the University of Alabama. After graduating from the University in 1985 I taught for 14 years at Englewood, served one year as the Reading Specialist for the Tuscaloosa County School System, and taught 7 years at Taylorville Primary. In the summer of 2007 I was hired as the Assistant Principal of Huntington Place Elementary. I came to Westwood as the Principal in the summer of 2008.

My husband, John, is the spokesperson for the Tuscaloosa County Schools. We have two children. Our son, Brooks, is a sophomore at the University of Alabama and our daughter, Allie Grace, will be a junior at Hillcrest High School this year. Our spare time is spent watching our children play sports and all things ALABAMA!! ROLL TIDE!!!
